I'm retweeting this to remind myself down the road that writing is about writing, not selling. Although I need to make a living, I want to be more intentional about my craft.
Saw a post by a writer who just finished draft 1 of his 1st screenplay & was asking advice on how to sell it. I advised him to get notes from experienced readers & to rewrite several times, then put the script aside & write 2 more. He said that wasn't the advice he was seeking.
My morning writing has turned into a morning job search. Would rather be writing adventures, but I guess I have to focus on my own real life adventure for now. Ok. We got this. #amwriting #ttrpgcommunity

Okay so here is advice I wish I had when I started! Decide if you want to make the full game or if you just want to focus on lore and use someone else’s system! Then decide if you want to do it for fun or for money! Those answers are a great North star for the project!
Lore drops are fun and all, but they need to be earned. Throw me into your world and let me struggle for a while. Way more engrossing! #worldbuilding #writing #fantasywriters #dnd #ttrpgcommunity
A suggestion to fantasy filmmakers and screenwriters: avoid the massive world-building exposition dump at the beginning of your story. Take a lesson from #GameOfThrones and #LordOfTheRings. Just start telling your story and let us learn the world as we go.
