An absolute pleasure to speak at the National Supporting Patients with a Learning Disabilities and Autism conference a couple of weeks ago :) Some great feedback and always good to see colleagues from across the country face to face for once!

Great presentation from @LASLDVS on their work Supporting Patients with Learning Disabilities and Autism in Emergency Care, which ties in very closely with the work we're doing in @WelshAmbulance and across the Ambulance sector on atypical presentations and sensory processing.

We are excited to be able to show everyone our new Autism Strategy 2023-26 🙌 Please feel free to share amongst colleagues and organisations that may be interested in or benefit from this work!

At #TeamLAS we're working to ensure our patients impacted by health inequalities get the personalised care they need 💚 We've published a strategy for providing high quality care across London for Autistic people, supporting patients based on each individual's unique needs ⬇

Thank you to Andrew Carpenter from @NBNLondonRegion for the powerful talk on #hiddenautism and the impact it often has on a vast proportion of our patients and families

Was lovely to speak at the LAS Annual Safeguarding conference 2023 about the importance of viewing challenging behaviour as an indicator of distress. Big congratulations to the safeguarding team for all their work on their work on the event 🙌

Our very own ‘Lead for LD’ Izzy Fallshaw-Daniels speaks about the challenges patients with a learning disability or autism may face at times of distress and how can we best support them #learningdisabilities #autism
