As an Indigenous researcher and journal editor, I strongly oppose this. Positionality statements create transparency and, at a minimum, give us insight to the ethical worldview of the researchers and provide a way to mitigate the exploitative nature of research.
#Positionality statements do not belong in the research literature. This is what my coauthors and I argue in the article published in Perspectives on Psychological Science. @PsychScience Our objections to this growing practice are three-fold (1/6). journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.117…
