Have there been any interesting ruby/rails books recently? I just don’t see them often anymore. Not as prevalent? Are programming books less popular in general nowadays? Really just curious what people have liked recently.
I worked on this at Twitter in 2015. IIRC we tested it and most people didn't get any views and we had to have some thresholds before showing it as "0 views" was depressing We also wanted to be accurate and not count if someone quickly scrolls past your tweet in their TL
Twitter is rolling out View Count, so you can see how many times a tweet has been seen! This is normal for video. Shows how much more alive Twitter is than it may seem, as over 90% of Twitter users read, but don’t tweet, reply or like, as those are public actions.
Too many new games I’ve gotten recently and here I am playing God of War 2018 and old point and click games.

This is absolutely breathtaking. There were 121,200 new coronavirus cases identified in the United States today alone. That's more infections than Japan has found over the course of the entire pandemic. nytimes.com/interactive/20…
TDD doesn’t mean “write the tests, then write the code.” It means “write A SMALL PART of the tests, write A SMALL PART of the code.” (Then reflect, improve, and repeat.)

🚨🚨Here’s the big piece I’ve been promising: an Atlantic cover story about the US’s catastrophic mishandling of the pandemic. It’s a full autopsy of what went wrong, every unattended weakness & unheeded warning, every festering wound & reopened scar. 1/ theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…
