I want to highlight this. Whatever we decide is "abled" always becomes a norm everyone must live up to unless they have a "valid excuse" (and what is "valid" is constantly negotiated in an ableist society). Why? Think about why these norms must exist. What's being policed?
What makes you more afraid of disability-....no, of abledness no longer being the accepted norm of which any deviation must be some rare exception, more than you are afraid of fascists? What are you so afraid of? Get to the root of these fantasies.
