On the cusp of sending out the keynote video to presenters and registered attendees in advance of 'kick off' tomorrow, so a final push to entice you to come along this weekend to #LHMPConf (register here: tinyurl.com/3m4aptcz): stay tuned for info on our fifth and final panel!

The final speaker of #LHMPConf, @stu_kel_, is now presenting his paper - the weekend has been some ride! So many interesting papers, with so much still to talk about! Delegates are free to join us for the last conference social event, which will follow the end of this session.

Our second speaker of Session 5, @DunsPitcus, is now speaking on 'Scots Sovereignty, Past and Present': sure to lead to yet another interesting discussion!

Our fifth and final session has kicked off, with Drs Lorna Gilles and Kirsty Hood QC speaking of the assimilation of Scottish residual jurisdiction post-Brexit: a topic of real and ongoing practical relevance!

For the last presentation of session 4, we're hearing from @shona_warwick of @UoELawSchool - speaking on the common law of lease and the Ali v Serco case which @Meaning_of_Fife also discussed yesterday. The conversation continues!

Professor Norrie now presenting at #LHMPConf - covering all things Roman law, Scots law and Lulu! Professor Norrie's presentation - and his recent monograph on the history of child protection law - has roots in his appearance as an expert on @WDYTYA_UK!

Our second speaker of the day - Professor Norrie - is now presenting his paper on the adoption of children - a concept which was not in fact introduced in such terms into Scotland until really very late in the day: 1930 in fact!

Day 2 of #LHMPConf has kicked off, with the first speaker of Session 4, Dr. Fernando Gil González of @KCL_Law. Dr. González is speaking on the view of lawyers on the place of Roman law in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The conference will continue tomorrow with two new sessions. Papers on the adoption of children, the idea of Scottish sovereignty, prosecutorial discretion and more! We'll be kicking off session 4 at 10am - do get in touch if you're interested in attending by not yet registered!

Prof. Dr. David Magalhães' paper on Landlord's Liability for Defective Premises - a perpetually relevant topic - is wrapping up, and with it, the first day of #LHMPConf - and what a first day it's been! We'll be hosting a social session between 6-8pm, to continue the discussion!

Session 2 has begun, a little later than intended, but there has just been so much to talk about! At the moment, our second co-organiser, @Meaning_of_Fife, is presenting on the history of possessory protection in Scotland

Joining us from South Africa (though ordinarily based in Glasgow) is Corlene Spoelstra, speaking on the difficulties in international family law arising from Brexit - another extremely interesting, and topical, work!

Our co-organiser @SartorialOrator's presentation might well find its way to an art gallery near you soon!

We think it is important that more people than the conference delegates see Dr Brown's visual aids, which he deploys to explain trust patrimony and indeed trust personhood, the subject of his presentation. #art #LHMPConf

Now @Malabah is speaking on the subject of recognition of 'child marriages' in its international context: Does Scots law allow for 'child marriage'? The ever elusive categories of age seems relevant here!

Stephen O'Rourke QC's presentation on slavery, servitude and the Human Trafficking and Exploitation (Scotland) Act 2015 is underway - speaking of his involvement in the recent case of Miller v HM Advocate [2019] HCJAC 7

The first break is coming to an end and the second session is about to begin: With papers from Stephen O'Rourke QC, conference co-organiser @SartorialOrator, @Malabah and Ms. Corlene Spoelstra coming up from 1pm!

Last paper of session 1 now; @Farinacius is talking prospectively: when might consideration of legal history be appropriate where one is looking to reform the law?
