Why are people looking to China for ideas about how to achieve prosperity when USA, Norway, Australia, Canada & UK exist? Countries whose citizens are more prosperous than the Chinese & also enjoy freedom of thought & expression? Why would anyone want Nigeria to be like China?

We decided to recognise the practice of using derogatory slurs against ethnic & political groups as an unacceptable violation of Rule 2 of Nairaland. Offenders will be punished harshly. We'll no longer allow Nairaland to be reduced to the level of the people who use such slurs.
I have come to believe that the best way to get rid of the petrol subsidy is to just remove it once & for all, & dissolve the teams responsible for administering it. It's better for people to SUFFER ONCE & get over it than to prolong their suffering by removing it in phases.
I hope fuel subsidy removal will not be politicised like the CBN's cash confiscation policy. I will totally lose it if Obidient economic experts start advocating against removing the petrol subsidy just because Tinubu has said that he will remove it.
