The Carr home was located at 500 East Third Street, where The Charles (Avanti East) Apartments are now. J. A. Carr was mayor of Lee's Summit in 1902 and later mayor of Oak Grove in 1911. His son William was a long time lawyer in Lee's Summit, setting up his practice around 1899.
