Concerning precedent if the Labour leadership supports the government takeover of Liverpool City Council. If local citizens dislike how the council has been run, they can vote out its leadership. It's not for Westminster politicians to make this decision on their behalf.
This reflects what difference devolution and a Mayor can make. The Government needs to devolve much more power and spending locally. We know best how to spend money locally
