Yesterday (12.12.24), Professor Oliver Niebuhr from the University of Southern Denmark delivered a fantastic talk at Leibniz-ZAS titled “Beyond Words: Charisma, Multimodal Communication, and the Role of Speech Technology."
New DoReCo corpus version 2.0 is out! DoReCo 2.0 contains annotated and time-aligned speech data from 53 languages. The bulk of the update from v.1.2 to v.2.0 was developed within the AIRAL project at Leibniz-Centre General Linguistics (ZAS). Link: doreco.huma-num.fr

We had a great showing at P&P 24 in Halle, with three talks and five posters covering a bunch of different topics. It was awesome catching up with our colleagues from Germany and elsewhere!
The awesome Multimodal Communication (MMSYM) conference in Frankfurt has wrapped up! We presented our work on (i) multimodal coordination, (ii) prosody & gestures, and (iii) whispered voices and facial expressions. We had such a great time!
Stefanie Jannedy and Sarah Wesolek represented our laboratory phonology group at Interspeech 2024 on the island of Kos, Greece. Their studies on f0 variation in German and the influence of L2 accent and different error types on personality traits attracted much attention.
