Hi folks. Our team is going to take some much needed time off. Thanks for all the supportive- and even not so supportive- messages. All part of the cut and thrust essential to our democracy. It was a great election battle locally and a tremendous result nationally. Thanks all. 🌹
We didn’t quite make it tonight but we fought a campaign we could all be proud of. Many thanks to my team and to all of you who I was fortunate enough to meet over the last six weeks and an especial thanks to those of you who lent me your vote. A new day is dawning for Britain!
Aw, we fell short but we gave it a darn good go! We congratulate @GavinWilliamson on his win and wish him well. Thanks to all of you who lent us your support, you did us proud by turning out to vote in such unprecedented numbers for a Labour candidate. Britain won tonight!

What a 43 days it’s been! I want to thank everyone I’ve met, friend and foe alike, for making this such a hard-fought but enjoyable campaign. We keep going until they shut the doors at the Polling Stations - and thank you to everyone there and at the count - but here’s a recap!

Exactly this☝️I am fed up with Gavin Williamson (why exactly was he knighted?) turning up at the site of other people’s hard work for a photo opportunity. We need someone who truly represents our community. LibDems and Greens if you want change please vote Labour!
Canvassing and leafleting can be rewarding and can be a challenge but sometimes you see something that simply raises a smile. 😊

Our NHS has been under an unprecedented assault since 2010. It badly needs reinvestment and reform to return it to the jewel in our crown it once was. Compassion is the mark of civilisation and the NHS and its staff embody that. Labour will make it fit for purpose once again.
Has there ever been a more limp, pathetic strategy than this Tory nonsense about a Labour supermajority? Big majorities prevent extreme factions holding government to ransom, as the endlessly absurd ERG - led by pompous dimwits like Mark Francois - did with Cameron and May.

Not sure resurrecting 'Big Dog' 😂at the last minute to help promote the Cons is a good idea. It just reminds us of all the bad things that went on during his watch. Suella positioning herself ready to launch her bid as leader after they go into opposition on Friday.
