Landslides can be set off by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and human behavior. But one of the most common causes is extreme rainfall—which is why climate change is increasing the danger of the earth slipping from beneath us, @kendrawrites reports: on.theatln.tc/BuYnqMb


A scientist on our team, Dr. Pukar Amatya, has published a new rainfall-induced landslide inventory for the Lower Mekong Region. You can access the paper here: doi.org/10.1002/gdj3.1…, and the data here: doi.org/10.6084/m9.fig…. These points have also been added to COOLR.
