Day 5 of Cyprus. Akrotiri Marsg Looks like I'm dipping the White-throated Kingfishers. Nevertheless 3 new species. Moustached Warbler, Black Francolins and the Black-winged Kite (record shot for proof 🤣). Bonus Long-eared Owl hiding away in some bushes somewhere. @birdsaroundcy

The long staying Black winged Kite preformed well this morning at Akrotiri Marsh + 2 Squacco Heron, 2 Pintail, 5 Marsh Harrier, 3 Snipe, 2 White throated Kingfisher, 3 Woodlark, 3 Bluethroat, 5 Water Pipit, Moustached Warbler & 4 Penduline Tit. #cyprusbirds
Day 4. Spent the morning at Mavrokolympos Reservoir before some non-birding sightseeing. Managed to bag Cyprus Warbler (3) despite spending two hours they never stayed out long enough for a photo. The Pochard, Black Redstart and Spanish Sparrow more obliging @birdsaroundcy
Day 3 Cyprus. Had an earthquake was pretty cool. 5 new species from down Akrotiri Marsh Spur-winged Lapwing, Bluethroat, Bonelli's Eagle, Long-legged Buzzard and Penduline Tit, dipped Desert Wheatear.
Fincsh's Wheatear at Asprokremnos Dam on day 2 of Cyprus. And it gave me a chance to see the abandoned village at the far end. Added a photo of A Sardinian Warbler as it was nice to actually get a photo of one for a change. Common but notoriously skulky. @birdsaroundcy
2 species of Lizard seen at Cyprus The Cyprus Rock Agama at Avakas Gorge and Troodos Lizard I think at Paphos headland.
Day 1 of Cyprus went well. Avagas Gorge for the Wallcreeper and a visit to the headlands. A handful of other new species, Blue Rock Thrush, Greater Sand Plover, Laughing Dove, Red Throated Pipit, Spanish Sparrow (finally) and Chukar.
Easy start to Gouthwaite Reservoir. First Great White Egret of the year for me on site. After one reported a week ago. #PWC2025 #Patchworkchallenge2025 #localbirding
Day 3 Tenerife the trip to La Gomera. No sightings at all on the way but the trip back produced 7 Cory's Shearwaters and 1 Barolo Shearwater. 0 Petrels. #birdwatching.
Day 2 of Tenerife was a trip down to Barranco De Ruiz for Laurel Pigeon, also added Atlantic Canary and Barbary Partridge. + A GWE whilst waiting for bus back to digs (apparently quite rare in these parts and needed a description on ebird. @TenerifeBirding. #tenerifebirdwatching
Started the 4 days in Tenerife strong. Plain Swift, Berthelot's Pipit, African Blue Tit, Canary Islands Chaffinch and Chiffchaff. Horrible light for the Pipit. #Tenerifebirdwatching.
