Grogu is a major character in The Mandalorian but not played by a human. The noises they make to communicate is done by a human but that was a creative choice by the producers not a requirement of our contract. That could have been computer generated gurgles just as easily.

This is correct. It is factual. Thank you.
There are times when union membership voting NOT to ratify a contract is the correct tactic for the union to get the best deal. I have no idea if that’s the case in the SAG-AFTRA negotiation, but I know the claim it’s NEVER good to reject a proposed contract is 100% FALSE.

I implore my fellow #SAGAFTRA members to stay informed. Don’t let anyone bully you to vote one way or another. You have until December 5th to cast your vote. Take your time. Do all the research you need. When you do vote, make sure it’s a decision that feels right for YOU 🙏🏽
Some people are saying that there was no way for us to get language in our contract that said that being scanned could not be a condition of employment, and I want those people to know that the WGA got that type of language in their agreement.

Those of us who are asking for more are not unreasonable children. We are asking for an agreement that is in line with what our sister guild got a couple of months ago.
There's a growing rumor that, if SAG-AFTRA rejects their contract over AI concerns, they could lose "all the gains" in their tentative deal and the other unions will "turn on them". That smells like AMPTP horseshit. If the actors vote to keep fighting, that is their right.
SAG signing off on “synthetic performers” and “digital doubles” taking the place of human performances throws every crew member under the bus. No human actors = no set and no crew.

Fantastic. So great to hear how things actually went down. And to hear the honesty of what about the deal is good and where we will still need to be careful. Let’s hope they come to @sagaftra with a deal that shows good movement on all proposals.
This episode is a victory lap, and a warning, and a great education - at least for me - as to the meaning of what we all just experienced. And the fight yet ahead.
