The average UK wage is £25,971 the basic salary for an MP is £81,932... Are we really to believe an MP who's salary is more than triple that of the average person has to take a second job? Are we also to believe that they have any idea of the struggles of their constituents?

Conservative MPs tonight voted to hand bankers a tax cut worth £1,000,000,000 each year. This is while they're pushing ahead with their National Insurance tax hike on workers. Don't believe their lies on "levelling up". They're busy punching down.

Why is it once again one rule for us and another for the government? I will never get back that last Christmas with my Nan, they could have had a work party later... #downingstreetparty

Last Christmas was my dear Nan's last...and I missed spending it with her because I wanted to keep her and the rest of my family safe based on advice given by our government... ...at the same time the government were partying behind closed doors. You're damn right I'm angry!

This is disgusting...the perpetrator of the racial abuse has had nothing at all but the victim has been harassed beyond belief. I stand in full solidarity with @a_leesha1 and all victims of racial abuse.

Nothing makes you hate austerity like when you get told at 7pm on a Saturday that a local mum hasn't eaten all day after being referred for a food parcel and it not going through in week so she's told to wait for Monday...I have put together some bits from our cupboard for now.

Wondering where the money for Universal Credit has gone? The Tories have given £3.5 billion to their donors and wasted billions more on unsafe, useless PPE. Here’s a very simple idea - stop giving taxpayers’ money to your mates and stop cutting support for low-income families.

£20 could be any one of these things and many, many more...the lack of it will push many families to breaking point with food, fuel, utilities and everything else increasing while wages stay stagnant...£20 means nothing to those taking it and everything to those it's taken from!

£20 in most parts of the country buys a week bus ticket OR nappies for a month OR two tins of baby milk OR phone credit for a month OR a new set of cheap school shoes OR enough Gas/Electric to keep the heating on when it's cold, OR taxi fare to the hospital in an emergency ...

The vast majority of people on universal credit are working people due to the poverty wages that they are paid, from today they are losing £20 a week, I know most of the MPs won't appreciate quite what £20 means to working people so here are just a few things £20 can buy...

Unskilled Jobs are a classist myth used to justify poverty wages! The pandemic showed that without shop staff, factory workers, delivery drivers, cleaners etc we fall apart...why would we want those who kept us going to have to work multiple jobs or subsidise with benefits...

The turkeys who voted for Christmas and then couldn't get any turkey for their Christmas dinner!

With only 127 applications for HGV drivers, I fear we may see over the coming months that on this occasion ‘Turkey’s really did vote for Christmas’ #BrexitDisaster #Christmas

I wish to send total solidarity as both a parent and a governor at a local primary to all Teachers and their Unions who are today calling for closure of ALL schools in Tier 4 areas! #CloseSchoolsNOW #CloseTheSchools #

What a nice bloke(!) @miriammirwitch is a solid socialist and a genuinely good person... The abuse she receives just because she stands up against antisemitism is appalling and if you think it's okay then you are the people who should be nowhere near the labour movement!

Sometimes I think I know my own politics, and then someone on Twitter tells me I’m wrong 😌

If you’re not Jewish, please don’t try to describe or define what antisemitism is or isn’t. There are so many Jewish voices you could promote instead. We are best placed to talk about our own oppression and it’s history.

Guess it's time for Cummings to start heading to Durham Castle again... At least he won't have to rush back for work this time.... news.sky.com/story/boris-jo…

Tonight our 6 year old announced that she wants to be a ballerina when she grows up.. As she started carefully dancing along to videos I couldn't wait to tell her about her exciting future with Fatima in Cyber!

Just imagine, for a minute, what it feels like going to bed on Christmas eve as a child and not hoping for toys or games or books but just to not be hungry... That is what the Tories have just voted in favour of. 💔 #BorisHasFailedTheUK
