Saw a forum post to work in France on a new mmo. Applied, forgot about it. Checked the mail I had used and saw a 1 month old invitation to an interview. Figured I’d check it out and maybe work a year. Got hired, WoW took off (correlation unclear). 20 years later still here.
I’ve told it many times, but I like telling it: - applied ~30 times over a few years - in that time, started a fan blog, then took over a larger fan site’s Hearthstone section; got to know players and devs and established myself in the community - leveled up & wore them down
Played some bgs for the first time in a while. Greta Gold-gun and Sea witch Zar’jira are pretty good together. Ended up selling out of them on like turn 10 because I had the nuts already.
We went for a drive in the rain. Julian forgot that it was meant to be raining up there.
Meta has good aggro decks and I had a few days off, so a rare (for me) legend month.
Live for 10 years, and played another bit longer in internal alpha and beta for me. I was hooked from the start - I collected all the cards during the alpha as free to play (by grinding Forge as Arena was called back then).

My life is very simple. I work on Blizzard games. I then come home and play Blizzard games. I spend time in between watching Blizzard game streams. and from @yumytv I learn why overall dam> IO > all else.
Fun fact - when I was interviewing to join the team, faster pack opening was my answer to “if you had a magic wand that could add add any feature to HS, what would it be”. ~4 years later (and in no way due to me, In just a happy bystander) I’m glad we’re getting this done.

The most random cup we have at home is a “thank you for a job well done” from 1992, the post office in Sandefjord, Norway. Afaik no one here has worked anywhere near there, nor at the post office. Somehow it’s survived 31 years still.
