LittleOM-India Mouse

@LittleOM

OM, aka Orphaned Mouse. Follow the musings of a Buddhist monestary mouse. My friend, a nun, and I live next door to Dalai Lama. Don't squeak, but I tweet a bit!

Little Om passed on Thanksgiving eve, he layed next to his half eaten almond, his fave, on his dry, warm cotton bed. Small mouse, big life.

I'm still munching, tunneling, nesting.... Since I was saved, March 1, 2009, in South India. Not bad for a little jumping mouse!

After a long journey through Varanasi, Sarnath, Lumbini and Delhi...back to Dharamsala for teachings by Dalai Lama...I'm happy AND healthy!

Very sorry that Michael Jackson, who had the only number one hit about a mouse - Ben - albeit a big one!, passed recently. This mouse morns.

"Mom" gave me a mouse dome, a mouse yurt! ... it's really an electrical 4-way junction that's 3 inches dia., 4 tube entrances, 3" high. FUN!

I'm a Mahayana mouse, caring for all sentient beings... I do hope the cats, mongoose, hawks and crows in the neighborhood think of this too!

@dabeisyinLB I bet it has something to do with the moon cycle, right now there's a full moon.

Today, when someone gives a Rupee (about two cents) it's like giving 10 million rupees. I prefer almonds to Rupee's or pennies. Lucky me!

The nun & I live on Dalai Lama's temple kora. That's the path, and road, that surrounds the entire grounds of Namgyal Temple, Dharamsala.

Hum, I have a question. Is a church mouse and a monastery mouse the same thing? I was saved at a small temple in India, so I'm the latter.

Excuse me, I'm only a mouse, but it's spelled Saga Dawa Duchen. Well, all actions, positive, or negative, are multiplied x 10 million.

Today is the day before Saka Dawa Duchen, a big Buddhist holiday, and beggers from everywhere have come to receive generosidy of others.

The news said that humans and mice share 75% in common from a genome test . . . WOW, I didn't know I had so many family members out there!

The monsoon rains have not come north to the Himalayan foothills yet, but there is a short thunder storm almost each day, but the sun comes.

Want to know more about India, the Buddhist nun, Tibetan Buddhism, the temple I came from or anything? Just ask. I don't type, but she will.

I was so little that the nun almost didn't see me . . . and even now I'm only about an inch long, but when I stretch I double my size!

It took us three days on the India train to get from the south to the north and I got to stay in New Delhi on the way.

We've had some adventures since then. Now we actually live very close to Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, which is very north in India.

I didn't walk right for about a week, but after 3 days I jumped out of my box up 3 feet in the air . . . hum, I think I'm a Kangaroo mouse.

The next day I looked right at the nun, we were both surprised! She took a trip to see Dalai Lama that day and she took me along.
