Lockdown Your PCOS

PCOS - food, baking, losing weight, managing motivation and keeping sane in lockdown!

I believe a lot of PCOS management is about WHAT you eat and whether it’s right for your body. The wrong foods can cause inflammation, escalating #pcos symptoms and weight gain (causing more symptoms!). #pcos #inflammation #weightloss #food

Am hoping for a better day today. Yesterday tested me a lot & stress is a big factor in pcos management. Today I’m tired (another thing that’s not good for PCOS!) but I will try not to let that affect my food choices. #stayontrack #pcos #stress #mentalhealth #weightloss #lockdown

Losing weight with #pcos is possible but it is harder for us. I’ve found there are some basic “rules” to follow but then with that u need to find what works for your body. It can’t process everything so find out (through trial & error) what it can & can’t do. #pcos #inflammation

Be sure to work out the calories of food rather than approximating. I just worked out calories in homemade cupcakes & it will definitely make me think carefully about whether I really NEED one or not! Mindful & aware eating will help manage your #pcos weight. #pcos #weightloss

I have a few new additions to my exercise equipment. A stepper and a trampette! Loving both. Just doing a few minutes every time I’m near them and trying to do just one minute longer than the last time. #pcos exercise is about movement not putting a stressful toll on your body.

Inflammation reduction is a key part of #pcos & healing your body. I have finally established that eggs may be a problem for me! Every time I try to be “healthy” I eat more eggs. My back pain massively increases around the same time... quinkydink? I think not! #pcos #inflammation

I have learnt a lot about my routine and habits this week. Keep a food diary to keep yourself accountable and see what you are actually eating. #pcos #fooddiary #lockdown #weightloss #health #healthyeating

Started writing my book tonight. Sometimes you just have to take a step forward, a blind leap of faith and do something, anything to make your dream a reality. Any step forward is more than you had achieved before - so be proud! #pcos #WritingCommunity #progress #DoSomething

So today, even though not strictly #pcos friendly, I made these. Cheesy bagel type things. Also plain bagel type things. An improvement on my sugar intake from all the cakes & baking! #glutenfree #pcos #weightloss #progress #lockdownpcos #lockdownuk

I logged my food today. It’s definitely too carb & sugar heavy. Also surprised by how many calories I ate despite not feeling like I ate much. Picking is not the way forward! I need to plan better & increase the protein! I did have boiled eggs today though. #pcos #lockdownpcos

The key to #pcos is to focus on getting out body healthy. Weight, infertility & symptoms are all secondary to that. If your goal is health, it becomes a life change, not a short term goal with an end date. #pcos is for life! #lockdownpcos #motivation

PCOS leaves us feeling flat & unmotivated when we really need to find oomph to make changes. We know what we need to do but it’s hard when you feel so rubbish. I’ve looked at motivation a lot lately. Tips to follow! #pcos #motivation #lockdownpcos

Today I took the plunge & weighed myself. I have 27lbs to lose. I dusted off my fitbit & am logging food. Seeing reality is a good starting point for progress. U have to know where u started to know how far you’ve come... even if it’s not nice to see! #pcos #loseweight #lockdown

Hi everyone! Looking forward to sharing lots of yummy 'normal' food with you, but I have made it more #PCOS friendly! We are on lockdown at the moment and my baking obsession has come back to life - so I needed to start making #pcos friendly versions of the cakes and meals!
