If this image doesn’t break you, I don’t know what will. Despite Taliban banning female university education, this young woman stood outside Kabul University today, hoping that they may still let her in. The Taliban barbwired the main gate & only allowed male students to enter.
This is so desperately sad. As a mother of a daughter; as an educated woman who works in a university, seeing how British universities work as engines of knowledge; as a human - this is so wrong.
The brave & talented women of Afghanistan are devastated this morning as the Taliban prevent them from entering their universities following the BAN on female university education. This is horrifying to watch. This isn’t right. We mustn’t stay silent.
