Good intentions I am sure but betting is an inherent part of the history of the @Stawell_Gift (the sport was literally built on it) & as such an exemption should be made. Gout Gout is a phenomenon & being able to bet on him would add to the excitement and be a nod to history.

This is a regrettable decision & needs reconsidering. An exemption should be made so that bookies can be take bets on the @Stawell_Gift at Central Park on Easter Monday in the same way gambling on Two Up is permitted on ANZAC day. History matters & it should be preserved here.
