It's not so much about trying to work for God in your own strength...it's about abiding in Him, and letting Him do His works through you.
Someone holding us accountable can be viewed as an attack if we're not humble and refuse to acknowledge our actions.
We may suffer unnecessary "hits" and receive unnecessary "wounds" from someone else, simply because that individual is at war within themselves, & we just happen to be close enough to them to be on the receiving end of the unbridled turmoil that's taking place within their heart.
Being "right" by our own PERSONAL standards may not be the same as being "right" according to GOD'S standards.
Our thoughts have the power to affect our emotional state...so we have to be careful of what we meditate on.
Jesus Christ is the answer to EVERY human problem or earthly condition. If we will approach His throne of grace in our hardest times and darkest trials, then we will find the strength that we need in every circumstance.
We can find several things in life to be pessimistic and ungrateful about, or we can use that same energy to find things to be grateful and thankful for. May the "attitude of gratitude" be the disposition of our hearts that we continually choose...not just today...but every day.
Self-awareness is so important....because if you're not aware of your behaviors, patterns, biases, prejudices, etc., then it'll be hard to change in those areas....and you'll continue to see things with a distorted view, and operate from a place of self-deception.
The Lord wants us to serve Him because we WANT to, not because we HAVE to.
What we can't do in our own strength is IRRELEVANT to God....because He knows that His POWER is greater than our INADEQUACIES.
True joy and happiness is an inside job. We can change every outward aesthetic in our lives (relationships, jobs, houses, weight, etc.), and excel at them all, but still be miserable if the peace of God is not permeating our spirit and soul.
Don't be so impressed by, or invested in these celebrities lives....celebrities who don't even know that you exist....ESPECIALLY when you have free access to the King of the universe.
God is greater than any trial or opposition that we will face....we can't let fear and anxiety get the best of us....trust in Him.
FAITH has an element of REST and TRUST attached to it, while FEAR is comprised of ANXIETY and WORRY. Let FAITH be our portion.
No straddling the fence, either you love God or you love the world. Choose.
Some people have extraordinary GIFTS but very little CHARACTER. If your CHARACTER doesn't match your level of GIFTING then it will become extremely problematic for you....and others.
One of the primary ways that you can tell how much the fruit of the Spirit has been formed in someone is by how they handle conflict.
If you want to see the activity of Heaven in your life then spend time in prayer. The secret place is where power is generated.
Following Christ may have consequences....but we shouldn't fear the consequences, we should only fear the Lord.
