Mentally tough players have a quick mistake-recovery time. They immediately move on to the next play. They don’t let one mistake turn into two or have poor body language on the next play. They learn from it then they make up for it.
Greatness isn’t common, mediocrity is. Excellence isn’t common, complacency is. Be uncommon.
It’s ok to make mistakes. It’s inevitable & it’s how we get better & learn. If you’re not getting out of your comfort zone & making mistakes during your training/workout, then you need to change your workout. When we compete, we make mistakes. It’s not fun, but it’s necessary.
It’s never easy. It’s not always fun. Sometimes you’ll question why you are doing it. Sometimes you’ll wonder if it’s worth it, but if you keep overcoming, keep showing up & keep working, it will all be worth it. Greatness isn’t easy, but then again, nothing worth having ever is!
PLAYERS: Nobody is entitled to playing time. It is earned during your training and practice sessions. Those sessions start now.
You can choose how to spend your summer. You can choose to chill or you can choose to work & improve, but when the popcorn is popping & those seats are filled, we will know what you did all summer by what you do next season. The part timers get exposed under the bright lights!!
Off season is the best season for great players! Period. Fall in love with building great habits that you need to have to be successful. Greatness is a lifestyle, not an event or a game. Fall in love with the process that excellence requires & let the results be what they may!

Toughness is making the daily choice to consistently do what’s hard over doing what’s easy. But there’s really no easy path. It takes what it takes. If you choose to do what’s easy, your only chance for success is just to hope that your opponent is lazier & softer than you are!

Excuses are the downfall of so many people with bright futures. You think you know what you want & have a detailed plan to get there, but then you start making excuses/accepting excuses. And that’s where things take a downward turn. Excuses don’t produce results. Only mediocrity!
Always true with every part of life. Definitely true in high school sports.
True desire is measured by ACTIONS. Show me what you do with your time & you won’t need to explain it. Show me what you do with your time & I’ll know how bad you really want it. Words don’t mean much. Anyone can SAY what they’re going to do. Your actions will always speak louder!
