MCC’s Board of Directors selected Albania as newly eligible to develop a compact. This selection acknowledges Albania’s democratic history, the efforts of its institutions to fight corruption and uphold the rule of law, and the country’s ongoing development challenges.

In October, MCC signs the $491M Zambia Farm-to-Market Compact, expanding investments to $800M to strengthen agriculture and infrastructure. MCC and @FeedtheFuture also celebrate the partnership at the 2024 World Food Prize, highlighting U.S.-Zambia initiatives. #YearInReview

In September, MCC strengthens its global partnerships: 🇧🇿 Belize ($125M) to enhance education & energy access, 🇸🇱 Sierra Leone ($480M) to expand electricity, and 🇮🇩 Indonesia ($698M) to support SMEs & infrastructure. 🇨🇮 Côte d’Ivoire’s Regional Compact is also approved.

As part of the National Defense Authorization Act, President Biden signed the MCC Candidate Country Reform Act into law, expanding our candidate country pool to 33 additional countries. This legislation strengthens our mission to reduce poverty through economic growth.

2024 Year in Review: In May, MCC launched the $60M 🇰🇪 Kenya Threshold Program & $350M 🇲🇼 Malawi Compact, improving transport & connectivity. MCC also celebrated with global leaders in Texas & CEO Alice Albright testified before Congress.
