Sickening to learn this morning of another mass murder in Dayton, Ohio overnight. Two horrifying acts of violence in less than 24 hours. We stand with law enforcement as they continue working to keep Americans safe and bring justice.
When will it end? How many more lives? El Paso and Dayton within 24 hours. Numerous dead, even more wounded. Our hearts are heavy today for these communities. We are with them as the heal, and we yearn to be a nation that protects its people from senseless gun violence.
Today, we mourn even more victims of gun violence. Our hearts are with the Gilroy and Philadelphia communities as they begin to recover and heal from these tragedies. The events of the past 24 hours are just more examples of the urgent need to reform our gun laws and save lives.
One year ago, we Marched for our Lives and we told lawmakers and lobbyists alike that we the people were done with inaction on gun reform issues. Today, we continue to fight for our lives everyday and push for the common sense reforms that save lives!! #MarchForOurLives

MAJOR VICTORY: The U.S. House just passed #HR8, a bipartisan bill to require background checks on ALL gun sales and keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn’t have them. This is a victory years in the making and shows the power of the movement to #EndGunViolence. 💪
Today, the United States House of Representatives pad H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019. This is the first piece of gun safety legislation to be passed in over a decade! Now, it’s off to the Senate. Call your senators and tell them to vote YES on S. 42!!!

Yesterday’s shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue is a stark reminder of two things: 1) Hate is alive and well in this country and we must do everything to overpower that hate with love. 2) Something MUST be done about the epidemic of gun violence plaguing the United States.
