Microarray, they are very interesting

In theory, the amount of DNA in the reaction doubles with every cycle, so it should be possible to deduce the amount of template DNA at the start of the reaction by how much is present at the end of reaction—a strategy called endpoint PCR. But in practice, that isn't always true.

I wanna give a big thank you to @jude for giving a speech about microarray. #KNOWLEDGE #waytoteach

While RT-PCR is used to qualitatively detect gene expression through creation of complementary DNA (cDNA) transcripts from RNA, qPCR is used to quantitatively measure the amplification of DNA using fluorescent dyes.#prestep

In oligonucleotide microarrays, short DNA oligonucleotides are spotted onto the array. The main feature of oligonucleotide microarray is that each gene is normally represented by more than one probe.

refers to a microchip-based testing platform that allows high-volume, automated analysis of many pieces of DNA at once. CMA chips use labels or probes that bond to specific chromosome regions. Computer analysis is used to compare a patient's genetic material #funfact#microarray

The spots can be DNA, cDNA. These are used to determine complementary binding of the unknown sequences thus allowing parallel analysis for gene expression and gene discovery. An experiment with a single DNA chip can provide information on thousands of genes simultaneously. #cool

can also be used to study the extent to which certain genes are turned on or off in cells and tissues. In this case, instead of isolating DNA from the samples, is isolated and measured. Today, DNA microarrays are used in clinical diagnostic tests for some diseases.

DNA microarrays can be used to detect DNA (as in comparative genomic hybridization), or detect RNA (most commonly as cDNA after reverse transcription) that may or may not be translated into proteins. The process of measuring gene expression via cDNA is called expression analysis.

A DNA microarray is a collection of microscopic DNA spots attached to a solid surface. Scientists use DNA microarrays to measure the expression levels of large numbers of genes simultaneously or to genotype multiple regions of a genome
