It is absolutely crucial that the 209 service becomes available once more for the residents of Drighlington. Please sign this petition to support our campaign. you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/brin…
Privatising water hasn’t worked. Our supply doesn’t just leak billions of litres every day, it also dribbles billions of pounds into shareholder pockets every year. We should take water back into public ownership and invest this money in a better system. theguardian.com/environment/20…
Here in Leeds our City budget has been imperilled by COVID. Im proud of what @Leeds_Labour have been able to achieve as result of determination and grit. They’ve kept our city moving in desperate times. The govt response is paltry. Leeds requires urgent govt action:
Next time you read or hear of a Tory pretending to care about poor kids please pop this little trinket their way.
🎗 | On 11th May 1985, 56 people went to a football match and never returned. Today - 35 years on - we pay tribute to those who lost their lives. They will be forever remembered. #BCAFC

There’s “no new” requirements on employers to keep workers safe at work in the governments return to work coronavirus plan. That’s an open goal for bad bosses to cut corners - putting workers and communities at risk. All workers should have the right to work safely.
The decision, under Jeremy Hunt, to reduce PPE stocks by 40% is having serious consequences for us all: “Half of all new infections reported last week were among healthcare workers... This has now become the leading edge of the spread of the disease.” theguardian.com/world/2020/may…
The government gave trade unions just 12 hours to respond to seven consultation papers on a safe return to work. This isn't how to build confidence or trust. It must now make COVID-19 risk assessments mandatory for most businesses, involving Health & Safety Reps where possible.
We can't endorse the government's incomplete COVID-19 guidance. ❌ Inadequate on PPE ❌ Not enough on ensuring safe workplaces ❌ No assurances for workers Many may refuse to work to avoid the risk to their families. We'll be demanding better 👇 gmb.org.uk/news/govt-covi…
This is shameful and shocking. The government is using the coronavirus crisis to privatise our NHS even further. theguardian.com/business/2020/…
Key workers told to travel 150 miles for coronavirus tests... with the nearest centres in the Lake District and Belfast! leeds-live.co.uk/news/leeds-new…
This is very distressing. The UK has the highest per capita death rate of health workers due to #COVIDー19 along with Italy. Almost 3x worse than Spain, 4x worse than the US, 5x worse than France and infinitely worse than Germany and the Netherlands bylinetimes.com/2020/05/04/bri…
Thank you Jennie for all your commitment and hard work for our party as General Secretary. You are a great friend and comrade, and I look forward to campaigning together for the cause of Labour and social justice in the years ahead.
My statement on standing down as General Secretary. Thank you to everyone who has given me such incredible support over the last two years and in particular to our members. You are the backbone of our movement and you make a huge difference with all that you do every day.
Shapps – Don’t judge on death total. Look at excess deaths. “You’re way up on excess deaths too”. Oh you can’t look at that for a year... Full story: bit.ly/OhDontLookAtWh…

With the big drop in tests announced today it looks like all the effort and focus was on getting Matt Hancock to his 100k a day target by the end of April at the expense of consistent and sustained availability of testing. That’s not a strategy.
Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct & House of Fraser ask store managers to return to work on reduced pay on Monday; told not to clock on when they worked in stores while on furlough – seemingly in breach of the rules under which the govt covers 80% of staff pay. theguardian.com/business/2020/…
