It is so important that our students to CHOOSE what they are earning. Reinforcers can change throughout the day! After recess, physical games and outside time may not be very motivating if they just came in. One way to prevent this is to give CHOICE!
By definition, reinforcement means whatever followed the behavior INCREASES the behavior. There are many times we hear “I tried reinforcements and it doesn’t work”. It is very likely we have not found a reinforcer for that student! Find something that changes behavior!
Teachers, thank you so much for all you do for each and every student! We couldn’t do what we do without you! We are so thankful for each of the amazing teachers we collab with! 💙
FREE RESOURCE FRIDAY! Making token charts for students in your class is super easy! Our Resource Specialists have created a folder where you can access all of the ones we have already made, EVEN EASIER! We have over 40 created! Check them out here: conta.cc/3VlNgF8
Showing our students what they are earning can make such a big difference in how well our reinforcement systems are working! Check out all of these different ways you can implement token economies! There are so many different options for all age levels, interests, and abilities!
Identifying reinforcers for our students can make or break our reinforcement systems! We can do this through preference assessments, surveys, or we can follow our student’s lead, have fun & engage on their level and figure out what they’re interested in!
Quick Tip Tuesday to help make your reinforcers more powerful! Hang out with your students! Adding an adult or peer can also help make your reinforcer more powerful. Bubbles by yourself…lame! Bubbles with your super fun teacher…SUPER FUN!
Here at PA, we are so blessed to be able to collaborate with principals and admin across the state! Thank you for allowing us to come into your schools! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication! Thank you for being you! Happy School Principal's Day!
We are going to be talking about reinforcement, the MOST POWERFUL strategy you can use in your class (& life)! Stay tuned for some tools to determine possible reinforcers for your students & ways to make it meaningful! For now, let’s learn about the PA team & their preferences!

We can use furniture to organize & structure our classrooms to create visual boundaries for our students. Visual boundaries help our students have a predictable & specific place for materials, toys, & activities. They also help students know what is available & what is not!
Feeling overwhelmed when trying to figure out how to set up your autism or functional skills classroom? Our Structuring your Classroom workshop is a great to learn how to set up visual supports for our learners. Sign up for our online workshops here: conta.cc/3vUe2IP
