Waterways are polluted when you pour oil into storm drains, use too much salt on driveways and sidewalks, or use too much fertilizer or pesticide on your lawn. That's why it's important to learn how to prevent pollution and to talk to your friends and family about it.
The weather is amazing! Don't be a litter bug and trash our waterways! 🚯 Litter on the streets can end up in our stormwater system, polluting rivers and harming wildlife. Do your part by keeping litter off the ground and out of our drains.

Today marks 32 years since the end of the Great Flood of ’93. While MSD Project Clear is not a flood authority, we do operate 28 pump stations along the flood wall. The pump stations operate anytime the river is above 27’, and keep downtown St. Louis from flooding from within.
