Dad pride? Just stood with daughter at a bar while she ordered a real drink, got carded, and served!
Cashier at @TheFreshMarket was annoyed that I was wearing a mask & didn’t want to take it off even though no mask mandate. Was happy to proclaim that she was only wearing one because the store required her to. Perplexed when I said it was the “societally conscious” thing to do.
Serious for a moment: If you’re represented in Congress by a Republican, please ask your Representative their thoughts about their colleague Marjorie Taylor Greene comparing mask mandates to the Jews being forced to wear yellow stars before being sent to gas chambers?
Good news! We’d originally heard that the “quiet pool” would be closed for refurbishment this week … but the contractor didn’t show up, so the pool is still open!
Then daughter, in one of those … um … moments … asks when everyone was “last fully submerged in water”. Apparently, she was getting excited about the prospect of being in a swimming pool for the first time in nearly two years. Did I mention that she’s an adult?
Daughter wrote a catchy new ditty for the family this morning: “Fart, can’t pooooop, oooh oooh ooh.” (Sounds better if you sing it…) Son is still singing…
Had a tough experience last night. Checked into a hotel in Columbia SC and wife immediately triggered and had severe anaphylactic attack. Something in the air triggered her. We had to rush out of the hotel and switch to another.
And out the window of that restaurant, I saw something you don’t see everyday. What? You don’t keep airplanes on a flatbed?
Anyway, I did want to post photos from the @McDonalds in Rocky Top, Tennessee (where I was responsible for a long delay for using the automated order kiosk). Anyway, don’t these photos make you want to eat there?
Sorry for the lack of tweets yesterday’s afternoon and evening. Poor connection and similar issues. Sigh.
I’ll take the blame here. Stopped at McD’s. I thought it would be smart to use the touchscreen ordering machine. 20 minutes later I’d managed to place our order. Sigh.

Grr. I’m 60% of the way through my book and suddenly the ebook file is corrupt. I guess I’ll put it aside until I can redownload it.

Line for women’s restroom goes out the door of the gas station. We have to convince mother-in-law to go next door to Cracker Barrel. “Okay, but I need to wait (in this really long line) for a coffee first.”
Heavy traffic (between Cincinnati and Lexington). Four lanes, all crowded. Pickup truck veering in and out of lanes, going at least 85mph, maybe more. Playing with fire (in the form of semi-trucks).
