For those diving into @MULawPoll data @jdjmke now makes a topline file with full trends for items we asked before. 40MB so better on laptop than phone. I use it a lot. We also post the old topline format w/o trend in a much smaller file if you don’t care about past results.

New nat'l numbers on media consumption from @MULawPoll & @PollsAndVotes. No shock with Fox News #1 on cable with GOP segments, 64% with "strong" GOP. CNN up on MSNBC w/ rest, but not dominant. If not "strong" GOP, local news and social media (writ large) beat any single cable net

Perceptions of the Court have shifted to the right since 2019, with more seeing the Court as conservative or very conservative. The shift in perceptions was most apparent in mid 2022, around when the Dobbs decision overturned Roe vs Wade. #mulawpoll
In September, 22% say they would describe the Supreme Court as “very conservative,” 38% would describe it as “somewhat conservative,” 32% would call the Court “moderate,” 7% see the Court as “somewhat liberal,” and 2% believe it is “very liberal.”
The Federal Reserve Board has a slightly positive net rating for public confidence, while the Centers for Disease Control and the U.S. Department of Justice are mildly negative. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has a substantially net negative rating. #mulawpoll
Asked about confidence in some public institutions, people gave the police the highest net rating, followed at some distance by the FBI. #mulawpoll
60% of those favoring the anti-job-discrimination ruling nonetheless favor upholding state bans on transgender girls and women participating in women’s sports, and 71%, of those opposed to the anti-discrimination ruling favor upholding the state bans. #mulawpoll
In 2020, the Court ruled that federal civil rights laws protect gay and transgender workers from job discrimination. Now, 79% favor this, 21% oppose it. #mulawpoll
Upcoming Court case: Was creation of a second majority Black congressional district in Louisiana an unconstitutional racial gerrymander? 48% say it was unconstitutional, 52% say it is required by the Voting Rights Act. #mulawpoll
Majorities of Republicans, 81%, and independents, 57%, think the Court should uphold laws banning transgender girls and women from taking part in women’s sports, while 56% of Democrats think the laws should be struck down. #mulawpoll
Upcoming Court case: Should the Court uphold state laws that prohibit transgender girls and women from participating on girls’ and women’s sports teams? 62% think the Court should rule these laws are constitutional, while 38% say no. #mulawpoll
77% of Republicans think the appeals court ruling about deporting people to Venezuela should be overturned, while 68% of independents and 86% of Democrats think it should be upheld. #mulawpoll
Upcoming Court case: An appeals court ruled that the president exceeded his authority in ordering the deportation of some people in the US to Venezuela. 56% say the Supreme Court should uphold the lower court, and 44% think it should overturn it. #mulawpoll
69% of Republicans are in favor of overturning the ruling limiting the president’s tariff powers, while 75% of independents and 88% of Democrats want the ruling upheld. #mulawpoll
