This yields very low relative humidity values of < 30% at numerous stations. Such conditions elevate #fall fire danger. The KY Div. of Forestry reminds all that no outdoor burning is permitted within 150 feet of wooded areas between 6 a.m-6 p.m through December 15th. #kywx
While wind is not an issue this afternoon, the lower atmosphere is very dry. The 'dewpoint depression' - difference between the dew point (temp at which air must be cooled in order to reach saturation) and the air temperature - is running quite high at many sites right now.

Unlike two months ago when rain all but "ghosted" the region (it's #Halloween, after all), most stations are closing out OCT with above-to-much-above average precip! For many across the NW into the Blue Grass, more than half the monthly total fell back on October 7th. #kywx
