After many, many iterations and experiments, we have (1) our first early adopters of the beta of our Digital Kit, and (2) have a final layout for the Print Kit! Thanks to all 450+ people on the waiting list for your patience and continued interest. We’re coming out of alpha! 🚀

feedback is a gift

The one thing that will mess up most companies/people going remote... the inability to synthesize, articulate, and provide actionable feedback. The peeps who can't work remotely will for sure fall behind cause nobody wants to work with their archaic methods.

If feedback doesn’t come with specific examples, it means people were talking shit and tried to formalize it lmao

“Experienced” is listening and understanding and learning. “Experienced” does not start with ego or try to act smart. Experienced is humility, understanding the greater context, and holding these in mind during each crit.

One of the strongest things an up and coming designer could benefit from is working on their feedback skills. Remember, a lot of design is an opinion, don't let your ego or trying to sound "experienced" get in the way. Ask questions and have conversations.

Some feedback should come with a gift receipt. 🤨

"Feedback is a gift." Some gifts may be returned. Feedback is an opinion, and not all of those are good. "Why should I care about that" is a valid response.

Super neat thinking here. Feels original. It’s called mmhmm (I like the name and the logo), and it makes presenting on video more flexible and more fun —> youtube.com/watch?v=c8KhKB…

normalize critique!!

Same holds true for early design concepts. #CritEarlyCritOften

The faster you can close the time gap in doing this, the more success you’ll have more often

Both. Designers set expectations and share the work. Facilitators can ensure all feedback is provided and next steps are clear.

POLL! Re: DESIGN CRITIQUE Who should run it? The designer presenting their own solutions, or a separate facilitator (e.g., a program manager or design lead). I can see both sides.

The designer themselves %57.6
A ‘neutral’ facilitator %42.4

💯 Critique is not an opportunity to put anyone down. Make it about the work, not the person!

If you criticize, pls provide evidence or at the very least explain your point of view clearly. I love people who give critical feedback that I can learn from. I hate people who just criticize and don’t help others grow.
