#COVID reduces a restaurant to math. Without service, social contact, the intimacy of food - the restaurant is just an equation. Math sucks generally and restaurant math is broken. It’s the people that allow restaurants to persist.... not the math. We knew - now everybody knows

The weight of mental illness can crush our relationships, family, physical health - our very souls. The weight carried alone is too much for most to bear. Lend a shoulder, an ear to those around you suffering silently. We all have the power to save a life. #BellLetsTalk
So go ahead - be disappointed, be bruised, be scarred, be scared - but be better. Not better than your neighbor, or your friend. Not better than your boss, or your co - worker. Better than you were yesterday or this morning. 2019 is a big year for us all. Believe me? You better!
But disappointments are the fuel that power dreams. The lessons they teach, the humility they bring, the spark they ignite. The scars they leave that remind you.
Start the year going forward. Stepping through that door, climbing those stairs. A step at a time, a day at a time. There will always be those that will try to hold on, to keep you still. They usually mean well, trying to save you from the sting of disappointment
Turning the page on 2018 is a good time to remind ourselves that the year ahead, the month ahead, the day ahead is a gift.... a chance.... an opportunity to do something good, to be better. Not amazing, exceptional, spectacular.... just better.
Lots to ponder as we are about to begin 2019 and the year I mark 50 years on this Earth. Mistakes, regrets, joys, some victories and some defeats, friends and family lost, friends and family found, the crooked path that is a life.
