Depending on the breadth of industries, the growth in Customer may not be at the expense of internal investment - the period ties in with the explosion in IOT, which will be impacting the Customer category #BIWisdom

Gotta feel sorry for the poor middle managers too - looks like they're in BI purgatory #BIWisdom

Hello everyone - up early thanks to a noisy cat, so thought I'd drop in for some #BIWisdom

Oh, I'm starting to see daylight outside so it must be nearing the end of #BIWisdom. Thanks everyone for a really enjoyable discussion - there's a lot to learn from these retrospectives, and I value your thoughts. Have a great week!

A couple of years ago I was asked to tidy up a project where customer requirements for strategic BI had been fobbed off to someone who only cared about operational reporting - not pretty #BIWisdom

As this is the last #BIWisdom before April 1, I thought it would be interesting to hear some BI disaster stories, and what we learnt from them

Good morning / afternoon everyone and welcome to this week's #BIWisdom

Time to grab your 3rd to last coffee - this weeks #BIWisdom will kick off in 30 minutes

Are you quivering in antici.... pation? It's not Rocky Horror fever, it's because #BIWisdom will kick off in 60 minutes. I hope you can join us.

Is BI nearly ready to be put into a Florida retirement village? What business problems exist which can't be solved by one of the myriad tools out there? Neural networks, predictive analytics etc. suggest no, but interested in your thoughts #BIWisdom

I'm curious how many of these concepts have actually advanced BI rather than giving a sales person something to include in a Powerpoint presentation. 10% I'd say? #BIWisdom

Impressive @gildardorojas - judging from that BI marketing seems to be leading 85-0 at the break, but we're hoping from an improvement in the 2nd half #BIWisdom

Hello everyone - back after a length migration-induced absence, but glad to rejoin the tribe #BIWisdom

That's probably the initial justification, but it also signifies a mature org; for embedded BI to be effective you need to thoroughly understand how the biz operates, the significance of different measures etc. Good embedded BI amplifies good embedded org experience #BIWisdom

Happy Thanksgiving and holiday to the #BIWisdom tribe from lovely warm NZ!

One of the challenging requisites for BI leaders is knowing when to say no. Just because a particular technology has been used effectively elsewhere (maybe even a competitor) doesn't mean it's necessarily right for you. Comes back to the org fit again. #BIWisdom

Ideally everyone in the BICC (or equivalent) would buy into biz component. Realistically though you'll attract a high proportion who just love playing with the shiny toys. #BIWisdom

For me, BI leadership needs to be putting the Business in the BI. Lots of smart grads and devs to beef up the Intelligence, but the biz component needs org-wide vision #BIWisdom

Hello everyone - been hibernating for the southern winter, but glad to be able to engage in some #BIWisdom today

Oops... clearly picked the wrong day to get up early for some winter #BIWisdom!
