London Spirit have a sensible logo and someone on the recruitment team who understands it is worth signing a 19 year old, who might already be the best new ball bowler in the competition. As we seem obsessed with size, I would say a massive fumble by the Super Giants.
Our first reaction was exactly the same as Jos!
Can’t wait to see the Super Giants rock that logo this summer! 🚀💪
Having watched Smriti Mandhana and Meg Lanning excel in today’s @wplt20 games, it is hard to imagine that the @ManchesterSG100 could have made two better signings to launch the Super Giants era. Class acts, on and off the field, our women’s team could be something very special.
We don’t understand the logic of not taking the full quota of signings ahead of the auction. Surely there is another women’s player (we would suggest Mahika Gaur) that you would secure, before being forced to go into a bidding war? Or are other signings/announcements possible?
In Phil Salt and Rachin Ravindra, Fire have made two fantastic signings. Both would have been retentions that we would have prioritised for Manchester. It will be interesting to see how they fair in rebuilding their side, but this is great work.
What. A. Signing 🚨 New Zealand international Rachin Ravindra joins Welsh Fire this summer 🔥 #TheHundred
For all our uncertainty over the 🐘 , we are totally on board with the arrival of the 🐐! Meg Lanning led the team that dominated women’s cricket for a decade, is a class act on & off the field and has won everything there is to win. We are delighted to welcome her to Manchester.
Manchester, say hello to the GOAT. Meg Lanning is coming 🐐
This could be the definition of a statement of intent signing. There is no bigger name or draw in the women’s game than @mandhana_smriti.
Grace. Timing. Champion mindset. World Champion Smriti Mandhana is now a Super Giant! 🔥
Throughout the seasons of struggle, the one consistent positive for our women’s team has been the quality and contribution of Sophie Ecclestone. We are sad to think that so many of our women may head elsewhere, but we are delighted to know that Sophie will be returning.
Sophie Eccelstone is back in Manchester. This time, as a Super Giant 🔥
The best white ball batter in the world is returning to Manchester. If we could only have one retention, it would always be @josbuttler.
He’s back to boss it, time for Manchester Super Giants 🫡
We have no issue with the name change, we enjoyed our time as Originals but we can support the switch. We would have liked to keep the ⚫️⚪️ as it is a superior colour scheme, but that isn’t a deal breaker. There is however a problem…
Strength, courage, and the determination to soar to unprecedented highs. A new era kicks off in Manchester ❤️
The @ManchesterSG100 are on X. Such a positive step and long overdue. We look forward to being able to receive regular updates and an improved and increased level of engagement. We would encourage everyone to follow and to get on board, for the next stage of the journey.
From streets to stands, one heartbeat binds us A United City. Manchester Super Giants 🏏
Lauren Filer added a real cutting edge to our attack and produced some quality moments. It is understandable that she is in demand, but once again it is disappointing that she will be playing elsewhere in 2026.
Filer’s heading to Phoenix 👊 The England pace bowler joins Birmingham Phoenix in 2026 🤝 #TheHundred
A fantastic signing for Welsh Fire, but a huge loss for Manchester. The finances probably meant that retaining Buttler & Salt was impossible, but it still stings to see the most destructive opener in the competition moving elsewhere. We wish him well.
Serious Firepower is coming 🔥 The highest run-scorer in the Men’s Competition heads to Cardiff, as Phil Salt joins Welsh Fire 👀 #TheHundred
With @MILondonCricket the next cab off the rank, it will be interesting to see when Manchester join the party. A much better way to announce signings! Also, interesting to see a nod to the Invincibles in the colour scheme. Is it too much to ask for an Original flavour?
Five Times Champions 🖐️ Building on the success of the past, with a refreshed look for 2026. #MILondon 💙💚
If true, we are delighted that Jos will be returning and Noor and Klaasen seem to be established within the Super Giants family. Liam Dawson is a surprise, but a very good cricketer and a canny signing. It does feel sad that so many Originals will be playing elsewhere in 2026.

Well this is quite the launch! It’s hard not to feel that @sunrisersleeds have stolen a march on the other franchises. New account, information on retentions and signings. Looking to enthuse and engage supporters. Hopefully we will get some information soon…
A new Sun rises with the same 𝙁𝙄𝙍𝙀 🔥 Orange Army of Headingley, welcome your team - Sunrisers Leeds 🧡 [@thehundred | @SunrisersEC | Play With Fire]
The arrival of Meg Lanning is intriguing, but what does it mean for Beth Mooney? Noor and Klaasen came with huge reputations, but had disappointing campaigns. Whilst Phil Salt has been a huge player for the Originals since day one. Time to trust the process and a new regime?

The new era will start with a new man at the helm. With so much change to come, it feels imperative to have someone in charge with a track record of success and the know how to build a winning franchise. There are few better qualified than @TomMoodyCricket.
Tom Moody is set to leave Oval Invincibles - soon to be MI London - after leading them to back-to-back-to-back titles. New global role at LSG will include overseeing Manchester Super Giants in the Hundred espncricinfo.com/story/tom-mood…
In terms of retentions we would be hoping to see the likes of Buttler, Salt, Mooney and Ecclestone tied up before any auction. Direct signings seem to open up a vast array of options. There will then be some top players available in the auction. It’s different, but exciting!

It is essentially a fresh start for all the teams and after some poor draft decisions, it gives us the opportunity to build teams that can compete for silverware in 2026. The work before the auction feels crucial, as bringing four top players beforehand provides a huge advantage.
