I found some Stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus) "eggs", and I brought them home to study. These things are both gross and fascinating at the same time!

Not ideal weather for foraging this weekend, but the fungi will have been enjoying the heavy rain, methinks! #UKFungusDay

Early Ceps / Porcini / Penny Buns. Seems like a good year for them, so hoping for bigger harvests in the next few weeks.

My white cucumber plants are just beginning to produce fruit (they were planted quite late). I don't know, but I think they might be "White Wonder". I've been told they taste almost citrussy.

Re the exams results fiasco... we actually got off quite lightly. Just imagine what would have happened if Chris Grayling had been in charge! 🤣

In this current Tory government, incompetence appears to be accepted (perhaps compulsory!). What does a minister need to do in order to get sacked? Gavin Williamson must resign or BJ must sack him, surely?

Borlotto bean "Firetongue". A very dramatic vegetable, IMO. I love eating the beans at the flageolet (green) stage, rather than drying them.
