We need to avoid any messaging that manipulatives are only for those who struggle or "Only if you need them" This stigmitizes mathematical modelling which is critical at ALL levels of learning. Concrete modelling is a critical/integral part of strong mathematical thinking.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Sir Ken Robinson died peacefully yesterday, 21st August 2020, surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. We will be following up with a further update as we begin to follow Sir Ken’s wishes and honour his legacy.
Another example of inequity and privilege: those who have the financial means to keep their kids home in September can CHOOSE to. It is not a choice for many families in Ontario. Don’t really know what solution would have worked for all (probably none), but, ...sigh...
