My take on the decision to make exam questions freely available to all this summer: morethansums.blogspot.com/2021/03/if-you… It isn't positive!

I honestly don't have the words to convey the contempt I have for the way that Williamson and DFE have handled this announcement on the start of term in January and school testing. The way they have treated dedicated staff who've bust a gut for kids all year is a total disgrace.

What are the DfE playing at. You lot are absolute clowns. Friday 18th at 1pm join an online event for mass testing in January. CLOWNS!!! It’s like the Simpsons episode when Homer wants to go to Clown College.

Thank you @c0mplexnumber, your drawing impossible objects lesson was perfect for a stressed year 11 class in the middle of mocks who just needed a break and to use their mind in a different way. I thoroughly enjoyed taking the time to do it too! 😊

Agreed!

Finally: Cancelling exams produces more unfairnesses, causes more stress (teacher and pupil) and acts against the best interests of everyone in education at the moment. fin

Watched another #mathsconf24 session, this time @Arithmaticks’s on Compound Measures. During my tutoring today, emphasised speed as a unit ratio and she spotted the connection straight away with her previous work on ratio. No more formulae triangles for me!

This morning pupils in Mr. Arnold’s Mathematics class tested their knowledge by playing the ‘Checking for Understanding’ game. A question was put up on the board and the pupils chose which answer they believed was correct by holding up their notebooks to show A, B, C or D.
