Who’s in your circle of influence? Surround yourself with people who are on a path of joy, purpose, and growth. Don’t ever attach yourself in a significant way to those who would steal your joy, mock your purpose, or hinder your growth.
Even when students continually don’t seem to respond to a positive overture by you, the teacher, keep trying. The positive effects are occurring in their thinking if not in their immediate actions.

Parents, you can help stop these false threats against schools and other facilities. Know what social media your kids are on, their user names and passwords. You can randomly check to see what they are posting. This in not a violation of their privacy, this is parenting.

I know we’re in a “kid business” ... but it’s hard to be an effective principal if you don’t love teachers too. They do the core work of the school, and it’s crucial that they feel valued and supported.
If a student turns something in late, it doesn’t mean the student knows the content less. Similarly, just because a student turned it in on time, doesn’t mean the student knows the content more. Grade learning, not behaviors.
