Human nerd building AI-powered software | GauntletAI C3 2025 | TS/Python/learning more
My first @gauntletai MVP! Introducing Figma-Newton, a Figma-style web app. figma-newton.vercel.app Built with BMAD. I focused on the Figma side so the AI will have more to work with once I add that piece. This has been so much fun!! Very exciting!
One of the most important things I'm learning at Gauntlet so far: Identifying early when a rabbit-hole is worth continuing vs when to pivot. Juice ain't always worth the squeeze!
Introducing Claude Haiku 4.5: our latest small model. Five months ago, Claude Sonnet 4 was state-of-the-art. Today, Haiku 4.5 matches its coding performance at one-third the cost and more than twice the speed.

I can’t believe this is real. Gauntlet AI is taking over former adtech giant Marin Software out of bankruptcy. We’re going to try to turn the company around in SIX WEEKS using AI. With a reality TV crew filming the whole thing. To follow along: Marin.GauntletAI.com

I'm calling it Figma Newton
Kicking off Gauntlet AI Cohort 3 with our first project: Real-time collaborative design tool (think Figma). Multiplayer canvas + design creation we'll add an AI agent to later this week. MVP due in 24 hours. No tradcoding allowed. AI has to write 100% of the code.

Oh no I stressed Cursor out: "TOMORROW?! 😱 Okay, let's cut to what actually matters for shipping!"
So, I just got off a call with Alby; a 14yo founder who's building an education app because he doesn't think kids are learning in the current systems... shocking. Alby is really impressive. He's been cold DM'ing/emailing people to get them to help him and it's actually working.…
Today we're announcing Claude Code plugins! anthropic.com/news/claude-co… It's the first major feature in Claude Code that I've gotten the opportunity to lead, and I'm really excited to see how everyone uses it! 🧵1/4
Listen, on my last day of work I gave my mentor a high-quality metal lightsaber hilt, and my cat's name is Frodo. Never question my Nerd status.
"Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe." People attribute this to Abraham Lincoln, but from what I've read, it was some anonymous lumberjack. Shoutout to The Anonymous Lumberjack.
Shipped DAD v0.1.1-alpha update today. As I use BMAD I'm noting features I'd like to see added: (user rules that apply to every project, linear integration for multi-dev projects, etc). I will most likely be forking BMAD in the future and combining with features from DAD.

I'm publishing what I'm calling Deliberate Agentic Development - a system for working with AI coding agents that keeps them focused and under your control: Plans get reviewed, decisions and their tradeoffs are presented for user approval, and agents can hand off work to each…
Here are a couple macOS automation scripts (Hammerspoon) I use daily in Claude Code / Codex: 1. Copy relative path of active file → paste into iTerm2 2. Copy selected text from any app → paste into iTerm2

BMAD + Playwright MCP during UX phase so I can choose a style before starting to build.
