It was a long wait but finally back to @RoyalOperaHouse! And what a return it was: #rohrigoletto with a new empathic production by Oliver Maers, superb singing from @Lisette_Oropesa, Carlos Alvarez, Liparit Avetisyan, @ROHchorus and the whole cast. Enjoyed every second of it!
The long wait since a fantastic @wigmore_hall recital in February is finally over. @OperaRara's sublime #AnimaRara gets better every time I listen to it. @ErmonelaJaho at new heights of precision and elegance without giving up an inch of her deep emotionality we all love so much.

Came with the highest expectations, but tonight @wigmore_hall exceeded everything. If @ErmonelaJaho in Suor Angelica was my Damascene conversion, then this was ascension into heaven. "E per udirti gl' angeli terran sospeso il vol" says it really all. Totally emotionally gripping!
The opera subsidy debate is fine and important. Interesting to note that the subsidy per medal won at RIO 2016 by GB + NI athletes was £4 million - or two and a half English Touring Opera years (autumn and spring season, and all their educational work) - per one medal. One.
Bye bye #ROHOtello, the last performance was as fantastic as the first, if any it felt more intense dramatically seeing it for the second time. Thanks so much to the whole team @ErmonelaJaho @MaestroGKC Carlos Alvarez @FreddieRoccoDT @ROHchorus orchestra of the @RoyalOperaHouse
