Church is neither a building nor a group of people—its an action, a mission. But the heart of that mission was forgotten when the construction of walls and weapons gave it power to enforce church. Today, that mission is lost as it uses weapons and walls to keep people out.

That moment when you think, “I got this, it’s gonna be ok,” and the next domino falls.

Being against something let’s that something define who you are. Be for people, for justice, for equality, for freedom.

Being against something oppressive (i.e. White Supremacy, Communism, Atheism, Patriarchy, Liberals, etc) doesn't lead to freedom from it. Rather, it imprisons us in a reactionary antagonism. This is how egoistic ideology works. True freedom always moves us towards reconciliation.

The only reason you’ll find God in a box is because he wants to be where we are.

For the low, low payment of $9.99 for three months, you too can discover how consumerism destroyed the church!

Can you effectively preach against consumerism on social media? On social media, we are the product...

Great giveaway if you're in to that: youtu.be/-VwTvjDG89c

The thing I hate about twitter is that no matter how hard I try to curate my feed, I still get political nonsense I don’t want to see.

Who do I talk to at @Walmart about their new “baby proof” medicine bottles that my 2-year old opened? She just ate 10 of my son’s vitamin-fluoride pills. (She’s not the first toddler to do this, either...)

Good lord. 🤦‍♂️

And Trump today attacked another black reporter, Abby Phillip: “What a stupid question that is,” he says to her.

For Halloween this year I want to terrify fundamentalists. I’m dressing up as Leviticus 19:33-34.

You know you need more coffee when you walk in to the next room and forget that you’re there to get more coffee.

Shame is how the enemy convinces us that our coping mechanisms are the problem instead of focusing on what those mechanisms are attempting to cover up. Today, set aside the shame and ask God for guidance. He will reveal what is causing you to seek control.

Pet peeve: someone saying, "I do the Christian thing: follow the money." That's an American thing, and not generally speaking. Americans are not the only Christians on the planet, and not all Christians are greedy.

Only an extrovert podcast host can invite guests on to his show and talk more than his guests. 🤦‍♂️

I’ll bet God sabbaths on Monday’s and that’s why everybody hates them so bad.
