Usually a redemptive villain comes from a certain amount of moral/ethical value they have that conflicts with a different evil. This villain won't hurt inexplicably, but when forced into a situation where they *must*, they will back off, and that's where redemption usually starts


I'm disappointed in the lack of "villain winning stories". The only stories that have the villain win either have the hero defeat them anyways, or the villain has a change of heart and becomes the actual hero. But it doesn't necessarily work for our moral values for this story.


Villains need flair. They need a sick outfit (probably with purple), some sick tunes, and epic visuals that follow them wherever they go, like green flames
