I love this 1874 5 francs. The reverse design came up a few times in the 1800s and again in the 1970s and in '94. They liked Hercules, and I can't blame them, Disney did a good job on the 1997 film. Wild how the French knew about it in 1848

A silver Akbar temple token from 19th century India. It's hard to determine its exact age because it doesn't have a mint date. The design imitates Mughal Empire gold coins from 1574 to 1576. Also, no coin stream tonight but I will be playing Spyro 2!

Canadian 50 cents from 1919. World War 1 ended in June of that year with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles
Egyptian 5/10 Qirsh from 1898. It was minted near the end of the Mahdist War. Egypt allied with England to fight against Sudan. It ended in a co-rulership over Sudan between England and Egypt. But the British made sure they had the power and Egypt was only in control in theory
1965 1 ruble from the Soviet Union. It was a commemorative coin to honor the 20th anniversary of defeating fascist Germany. The reverse depicts the Soviet War Memorial that still stands in Berlin. It's made out of nickel silver, which does not contain any actual silver
1936 New Guinea penny. Minted during a gold rush that started 10 years earlier. The discovery brought in prospectors looking to cash in and strip the island of its precious metals
1929 Argentinian 20 centavos. It was minted in the same year as the 1st conference of Latin American communist parties, hosted in Buenos Aires. The city also held the 12th South American Championships later that same year.
Ottoman 20 Para coin from 1914. Minted in the year the Ottoman Empire entered the First World War with a surprise attack against Russian forces, civilians and infrastructure. Also, no stream tonight, my voice sounds like garbage lol
1952 Laos 50 cents. Minted the year before Laos gained independence from France. 6 years later, in 1958 it was caught in the Vietnam War and a massive US bombing campaign began over Laos. About 80 million bombs didn't explode and still kill about 50 people every year.
