K students have been reading books nominated for the @monarchaward since we returned from winter break. Recently after reading a book about a fire hydrant named "Lou," they all made their own Lou crafts!
We celebrated World Read Aloud in our district by welcoming the @MCLibrary_SD735 Social Justice Club as guest readers in all our classrooms! 📚😍
K students completed their first @breakoutEDU in the library this week! They found Nicki's lost mitten from the classic book "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. Thank you to all the family members that came in to help us solve the puzzles!
Pre-K students made their own "new toys" in the library this week during their Mo Willems unit, inspired by the Elephant & Piggie book "I Love My New Toy."
Author and illustrator Jacob Grant visited us today to read his new book "Umami" and teach us how to draw the penguin. All the Meyer Stars had a great time- thank you, @JacobGrantBooks!
Creepy Carrots invaded the library this week! After reading the book, kindergarten students built fences to keep Jasper Rabbit out of the carrot patch! 🥕
K students made their own colorful, shape-filled play-doh pumpkin patches after reading "The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin" this week!
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! K students took inspiration from the classic story and built their own letter trees, then drew them and counted how many letters they were able to fit on top! 🌴🔤
The first weeks of this school year have flown by! We've been busy exploring the different areas of the library, reading stories, and checking out our first books in kindergarten. Pre-K students will get to start checking out books next week! 📚💖
Most of the Pre-K classes have visited the library for the last time this school year- we closed it out with some fun building centers! 🏗️

Kindergarteners continued to learn how to code @WonderWorkshop Dash robots this weeks by using the "Go" iPad app!

Meyer had the pleasure of hosting award-winning author, illustrator, and artist Cozbi Cabrera (@CozbiHandmade) this morning! Everyone had a great time- what a fantastic way to start our day! 📚❤️
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the Meyer Library! Save the date for Monday 4/29-Thursday 5/2, and be sure to visit during the Meyer Showcase on 5/2 anytime between 5:30-7:30 pm.
Kindergarten students met @WonderWorkshop's Dash this week, and got a taste of coding real robots using a special Bluetooth board & command pieces called Puzzlets! 🤖
After reading the nominated books since January, K students voted for the favorites today- we can't wait to find out which book will be the winner of this year's @monarchaward!
The Big Bad (hair dryer) Wolf was no match for the Pre-K students and the houses they built together after reading "The Three Little Pigs" during their fairytale unit!
Kindergarten students continued to practice coding through board games this week by learning how to play Robot Turtles. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped us by being "turtle movers!" 🤖🐢
