Clearly a setback for patients and the research community in Europe. We need to encourage a well-informed decision process by doctors and patients rather than blocking access. Leqembi | European Medicines Agency ema.europa.eu/en/medicines/h…

My hunch is this new lesion connectome-predictive modeling approach by @jfjiang published yesterday in @NatureComms will become the next generation of lesion network mapping. Seems very promising at this early stage. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Alzheimer’s Association Welcomes U.S. FDA Approval of Lecanemab

The Alzheimer's Association welcomes the news that Lecanemab (Leqembi) received accelerated approval from the FDA as a treatment for Alzheimer's disease.

Our new paper shows polygenic risk score comprising 85 lead AD-risk SNPs to be associated with enhanced effect of amyloid on the rate of tau PET accumulation, and cognitive decline. Thanks to lead author @AnnaRubinski & @rainermpg, Simon Frerich @nfranzme tinyurl.com/576vd4um

In this study published in @NatureAging: nature.com/articles/s4358… we measured sTREM2 and the DAM2 markers AXL, MERTK, GAS6, LPL, CST7, SPP1 and CSF1 in the CSF of non-demented individuals, who underwent longitudinal amyloid-PET, tau-PET and cognitive assessment.

We are happy to present our new article by @JoanaBPereira1 et al. published in @NatureAging: nature.com/articles/s4358… showing that disease-associated microglial stage 2 (DAM2) markers predict slower tau accumulation and cognitive decline.
