I will be giving several talks this coming week at universities in Switzerland: Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Basel, and Bern. Hope to see some of you there!
8 (!!) years after the problems were put on Pubpeer this paper finally got retracted! 👇 It's just not ok how long it takes to get rid of bad/fake research! Publishers and @C0PE need to wake up. Too much power with the ones that wrote the papers. pubpeer.com/publications/7…
This is a real figure taken from a research article in a Nature journal. This is insane.
MAHA achievements so far - Measles is back -Whooping cough is back -One type of food colouring in one brand of breakfast cereal has been changed
Australia just recorded zero cervical cancer cases in women under 25 - for the first time since records began in 1982. This is what happens when a country commits to HPV vaccination and screening. We protect our girls and save lives.
"After having published 500 papers in a 15 year period, I am shocked at the way investigators will do anything to pad their CV."
This paper seems to present very weak evidence that the authors use to try to show an associative relationship. When questioned about these tenuous connections, and contradictory references cited in the paper, the authors reply: “let’s do a podcast!?” This isn’t a cage match. 🤡
“pushing to retract” are big words - @Thatsregrettab1 asked some questions about the interpretation of the data, since only one autistic person was included, with confounding factors. Happy to discuss on PubPeer, rather than in a podcast.
Behind every insult might be low-confidence, bullying, and fear.
Four years! This crap should be retracted in four seconds.
After 4 years, the @WileyGlobal journal Macromolecular Symposia retracted this "paper." pubpeer.com/publications/C… h/t anon Hoya.
Oopsies. A 2024(!) travesty of a paper courtesy of @ElsevierConnect's Translational Oncology journal and researchers in China. pubpeer.com/publications/7…
Isn't doxxing also not poor practice, Kevin?
Back in New Zealand after two back-to-back conferences, for a couple of days of vacation at the Coromandel peninsula, before we head back home. Lovely bed and breakfast with amazing view.
ScienceGuardians, Ghosts of Integrity A group of anonymous activists has been working for nearly a year to follow, or even legally threaten, detectives of scientific integrity. Chronicles of an invisible war. @LucileVeissier at TheMetaNews themeta.news/les-scienceg...
Hi, actual scientist here 👋 Science doesn’t work by proving a negative. You don’t prove unicorns don’t exist. You look for evidence they do and if none shows up, you move on. And here’s what we’ve found after decades of research: Millions of children. Dozens of studies.…
Newly minted female PhDs who did incredible doctoral research becoming high-profile and highly effective research advocates because dumb ass right-wing trolls made fun of their thesis topic is my new favorite thing.
