Over the past while, myself and @vinniewall2 have been working on putting a letter together to the @OireachtasNews Climate and Health committees, with the objective of persuading them to work to get the Leinster House garden restored. Today, we sent the letter. Thread:

Spotted part of the older fascia peaking out on this store on Capel Street. It'd be lovely if this shop owner were to remove the ugly, oversized fascia and restore the older, smaller one underneath, but I'm not too optimistic.

If there is a service available to have a tweet printed and framed, I would like this one please

You’ll literally have a policy like “make air cleaner” after an EPA report on pollution, and radio stations will invite on the CEO of Blowing Smoke in Babies Faces Ltd to blabber on about how it’ll hurt quarterly profits by 2%.

With motorway toll rises in the news today, reposting a piece @mu_lynch and I wrote a few weeks ago arguing we need to fundamentally reform the way we tax driving (including tolls). irishtimes.com/opinion/2023/0…

A driver hit me at nearly this exact spot yesterday as I cycled home. Never mind nice, I'd settle for not perilously dangerous.

How nice could Ballsbridge be without five lanes of traffic?

Interesting that the SI enabling the trial of zebra crossings w/o Belisha beacons say that a sign *may* be used. My interpretation is that if the zebra lines on the road exist |=| then it is a valid zebra crossing in law, even without Belishas or a sign. irishstatutebook.ie/eli/2022/si/51…

Or ask the council to grit the footpaths so that people can safely walk outside instead of insisting that the council grit everywhere cars go while advising the elderly to stay inside.

⚠️Take care on icy footpaths❄ I have asked @dlrcc to commence gritting of all secondary Rds & housing estates in the county urgently. Advisable for the elderly to stay indoors as much as is possible until the ice has cleared. Make sure to look out for your elderly neighbours!

A TD from Donegal needs a car park directly outside the Dáil, @McConalogue, really? A Minister is hardly wasting 7 hours a day on a round trip from Donegal while having an apartment in Dublin, surely? Also, there are car parks beside the Dáil. One even owned by @DubCityCouncil

Delighted to hear Min. Ryan’s support for transforming the Leinster House car park to a public green space, an extension of the national gallery. What a positive signal this would give to the public on climate leadership from politicians. I hope for strong cross party support.

NEWS: Green Party Leader @EamonRyan has told #TonightVMTV he is in favour of getting rid of the car park for politicians at Leinster House.
