The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) continues to forecast a 6%+ 30-year fixed for the entirety of 2024. Joins Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 'higher for longer' camp. Last September, they expected a 30-year fixed of 5.5% by Q3 2024. Those sub-6% rates now pushed to 2025.
Existing-home sales increased 9.5% in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.38 million, the largest monthly increase since February 2023. Sales were down 3.3% from the previous year. The inventory of unsold existing homes increased 5.9% from one month ago to 1.07…
NAR released their existing home sales numbers for February today, up 9.5% over last February. The real-time data shows that March will continue to grow sales volume. Inventory is climbing and new listings are climbing - more sellers each week mean more sales can happen.
