Even today, we grow a lot of bajra in India! According to @ICRISAT, "Pearl millet (bajra) accounts for about 50% of the total global production of millets. India is the largest single producer of the crop, both in terms of area and production".
Cool article yesterday in @the_hindu giving a glimpse of India 2300 years ago, as described in Indika by Greek writer Megasthenes. What caught my eye, "On food he writes that India grows a lot of millet (bajra), and that it has two crops and a monsoon" bit.ly/31A13MZ
